Holidays at the Fleesensee: Your retreat in Germany

My young Labrador Emil whines impatiently and can hardly wait until I clasp his leash to his collar. Maybe dogs can sense special days before we can? While Nadine snuggles up in the cosy hotel bed, I step out of the room and into the early-autumnal beauty. We are in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District on the Fleesensee, and I am at least as excited as Emil. After all, I also love the fresh morning air, the pleasant breeze, and the morning silence that envelops us in a special atmosphere here.

The early bird…

The dreamy location of our hotel, the TUI BLUE Fleesensee, asks to be explored, and the morning walk on the lake inspires our senses. As the sea grass sways gently in the wind, I observe through my camera lens how the rich green colours of summer are slowly transitioning into their autumnal best. An advantage of being the owner of a four-legged friend? I have two reasons to start the day in the morning ahead of everyone else. The still-deserted landscapes and the beautiful play of colours in the morning sky, captured in my photos, make getting up early worthwhile, don’t you think?

Four-legged friends are welcome at Fleesensee

It’s always nice when we discover hotels that impress us not only by their location, but also by their comfort for our small family with a dog. This is definitely the case with the TUI BLUE Fleesensee. The three of us feel welcome and in very good hands in one of the 156 modern rooms, many of which, by the way, offer direct views of the lake. After the large, varied breakfast buffet, we enjoy a quiet day in the BLUE Spa, an inviting wellness area where we find not only the classic Finnish sauna, but also a fragrant herbal sauna, a steam bath, a salt grotto, and sensory showers. The perfect way to strengthen the immune system!

Our recommendation: Make sure you get a room with a view of the lake. Four-legged friends are also allowed in this type of room 🙂

Fleesensee? We’ll be back!

After the sauna, do you dare take a dip in the cool water of the Fleesensee? After that, I’m definitely awake, even after the chill of the water has left my limbs and I could barely make it back to the hotel swimming platform 😉 maybe I’ll come back next summer and make up for it! We also swim laps in the indoor pool, and occasionally have the whole place to ourselves, because the area here lures guests outside into the beautiful autumn weather! From bike hire (which you can book directly from the reception) to boat hire, the possibilities for exploring the Mecklenburg Lake District are limitless. We love to discover the birds here, and look forward each the morning to the beautiful lighting in the evening, which amazes us just as much as we expected as we watch the sunset from the private beach in front of the hotel. You can watch the spectacle in the sky comfortably in one of the covered beach chairs, for example.

Something for everyone

A day spent between outdoor activities and the spa can be concluded with a delicious dinner. In the evening, the hotel serves fine regional-seasonal cuisine: either as a set menu or à la carte. Everyone will find something to their liking and lifestyle, because as in other TUI BLUE hotels there is also a selection of vegetarian, vegan, and low-carb meals … and of course Emil is of course also provided with a bowl of water 😉 A big thank you from us for this beautiful start to autumn 2019!
