TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park: What it’s really like there

You’re considering the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, but aren’t quite sure if it’s right for you? I’ve been there several times myself – both for business and privately – and recommend it to friends and acquaintances with a clear conscience. It’s even one of my two favourite TUI BLUE hotels!

Why the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park wins awards for guest satisfaction from various platforms such as Tripadvisor every year, you can read here in my review.

Where is the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park located?

The hotel is located in Sarigerme Bay on the Turkish Aegean. Sarigerme is jokingly called “TUIgerme” because of the many TUI hotels. Surrounding it are the TUI BLUE Seno (for adults) and the TUI BLUE Tropical (for families). The TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park definitely has the most beautiful location in the bay, surrounded by hills and with the best beach section (gently sloping sandy beach). The hotel grounds are extensive, maintained with great attention to detail and never feel overcrowded, even when the hotel is fully booked. The remains of the ancient city of Pisilis are located on the hotel grounds. Not every hotel has that 😉

The nearest airport is Dalaman and only 20 minutes drive from the hotel. For families is a very good alternative to the long transfer times on the Turkish Riviera and the more natural coast compared to the section between Antalya and Alanya.

Who is the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park suitable for?

At the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, you’ll find families with children, young and older couples, and solo travellers. I can recommend it with a clear conscience to anyone and everyone, regardless of age or nationality, because you can simply feel at home there. It is wheelchair accessible and therefore also suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Some guests have been travelling here for decades and practically an entire generation has grown up holidaying at the hotel, who now come with their own children. In the words of one regular guest: “It’s like a second home and family“. What sounds like a hackneyed holiday brochure becomes a tangible reality here. The staff now know me and I know them and it’s always a nice feeling to see familiar faces!

BLUE Guides and the staff – the heart and soul of the hotel

You will notice the warm, cheerful staff at the hotel. Some have been working here for decades, which speaks volumes for the positive attitude of the staff. The BLUE Guides – especially the BLUE Guide Manager Mareike – are on hand to answer any questions you may have. Food allergy? Talk to the BLUE Guide. Fancy a trip on your own and need information? Talk to the BLUE Guide. They are all incredibly helpful and can read guests’ wishes from their eyes. You’ll feel welcome and at ease right from the start and by the time you wave goodbye to familiar faces on your departure, you’ll have taken them to your heart. I promise!

All Inclusive at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park

Every time I see the buffet in the main restaurant, I stand around puzzled for a while because the selection is almost endless. All-inclusive has the “disadvantage” that one wants to try everything, and at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, “everything” is quite a lot. Sometimes potential guests ask us whether the hotel is suitable for “picky eaters”, “my partner only eats xyz, otherwise he won’t go on holiday”. The short answer: Yes!

  • Vegan There is a vegan corner with dishes beyond the bread and salad bar.
  • Vegetarians Turkish cuisine has a lot of delicious vegetarian specialities to offer, especially cheese.
  • Gluten-free Let the hotel know before you arrive and you will also enjoy a carefree culinary holiday.
  • Meat and fish eaters Everyone knows Turkish barbecue specialities. My tip: be sure to take part in the Beach BBQ. The atmosphere alone is worth it.
  • Sweet tooth? Apart from the dessert buffet, the sight of which almost makes your head spin, there is a frozen yoghurt machine where you can tap your own. I was always hoping that nobody would notice that I was getting myself one three times a day…
  • Do you only eat certain types of bread? The hotel’s own bakery bakes Turkish flatbread as well as German wholemeal bread and pretzels

Included are meals in the buffet restaurant, in the Purple Turtle on the beach and in the pool restaurant. The a la carte restaurant is included once per stay and is highly recommended! For a romantic exclusive dinner, there is a more elevated location available for a fee, from where the view of the sunset will enchant your evening. A typical Turkish village breakfast is also available here for a fee. A must-try!

At the bar, local non-alcoholic and selected alcoholic drinks are included. Forget about watered-down cheap cocktails! The locally inspired cocktails at TUI BLUE are exclusively developed for the hotel. My favorite drink here is the Nar Cosmopolitan, made with pomegranate. Find out more about the cocktails at TUI BLUE.

My tip: Don’t miss out on the gözleme at the Purple Turtle. Gözleme are a pastry made from yufka dough with various fillings. The most popular are those with cheese or meat. The dough is rolled out, topped and baked on a griddle. At the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, you can watch a local woman prepare gözleme in the traditional way. The gözleme alone makes a holiday at the hotel worthwhile 😉

Best room at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park

The rooms and suites are spread over a main building (with lift) and several villas. From the higher floors of the main building, you can see across the entire hotel grounds to the sea. The villas, on the other hand, are located in the garden and have the advantage of being closer to the pool and the sea. The suites have two bedrooms, making them ideal for families.

Room tip: If you like panoramic views, use the desirselect your room booking to secure a room in the main building on the upper floors.

Childcare at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park

Unlike the neighbouring TUI BLUE Tropical, the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park is not a pure family hotel. Nevertheless, there is a kids’ club with loving care for different age groups, a shaded playground, baby equipment such as high chairs or cots, and a baby and children’s pool. In the BLUE App you will find all the details and the opportunity to register your child for the kids’ club before you arrive. If you want to have fun together with your children, join the organised family activities where you can play and be active together. In the evening, there’s more action at the mini disco.

Entertainment and sport at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park

Between “dozing all day on a beach lounger” and “working out with multiple sports activities”, anything is possible at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park. Take a look at the programme in the BLUE App and you’ll get excited about yoga (yoga platform with sea view), a mountain bike tour, beach volleyball or a catamaran tour. Have you always wanted to try SUP or join a mobility training session? I don’t know what that is, but go and find out. That’s how I got into stand-up paddling and now own my own board. On holiday, you have the time and leisure to try new things. Even if it’s just regular workouts in the hotel gym.

Right next to the hotel beach there is an external water sports station that offers trips to the nearby Baba Island, but also SUP, surfing, sailing, diving… for beginners and advanced levels.

If that sounds too strenuous for you and you’ve always wanted to visit a Turkish hammam instead? At the BLUE Spa of the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, you’ll not only get the full wellness experience in the Turkish bath, but also exotic massages and facial treatments. My favourite is the hammam programme with scrubbing and foam massage. Your skin will be softer than ever afterwards! In the BLUE App, you can find out more about the BLUE Spa and the treatments.

And what do you do in the evenings? There are shows to get excited about and sing along to at the amphitheatre. It’s always very international and caters to almost every taste. Afterwards, there’s still a party going on at the Purple Turtle beach bar. Just check the app.

My tip: There are regular courses where you can learn things like mixing cocktails, the most important Turkish phrases, or take a guided walk around the hotel grounds… I took the Turkish course and now know a few phrases that go down very well with the locals. You can find the daily programme in the BLUE App.

What can you do around the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park?

The Turkish Aegean region around Dalaman has many highlights that are less well-known in Germany. First and foremost, the Iztuzu Beach. This is not only where the Dalyan River flows into the sea (where you can take a boat tour), but it is also known as a turtle nesting site. The turtle rescue station does great work and is definitely worth a visit. You shouldn’t miss the boat trip on the Dalyan River passing by the Lycian rock tombs of Kaunos and the Cleopatra mud bath, which is said to have a rejuvenating effect.

A few minutes’ walk from the hotel is the village of Sarigerme. From sports bars to clothing stores with the usual knock-offs, the small “village promenade” has pretty much everything that might appeal to tourists. Sundays is market day in Sarigerme. It’s worth strolling over for a few souvenirs like soap or herbs. Public minibuses depart from in front of the hotel to the nearest towns of Dalaman and Ortaca.

How sustainable is the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park?

The TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park is a pioneer in sustainability and has progressively adopted more sustainable practices over time. As a result, it proudly bears the ‘Green & Fair’ certification. Notable features include the solar panels, paper straws instead of plastic, efficient waste separation, and reminders to change towels only when necessary. The hotel also boasts its own vegetable and herb garden and olive oil production! Moreover, it actively supports charitable organizations, such as the local animal shelter, and educates staff about environmentally friendly practices. They’ve made significant strides in reducing food waste. Feel free to approach the BLUE Guides at the hotel if you’d like to learn more, or check out the details in the BLUE App.

Departure from the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park

Why do I mention the departure separately? In other hotels, you hang around in the lobby on the day of departure as if you’ve been ordered and not picked up. At the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, on the other hand, thanks to the Farewell LoungeThe last day is also a beach day, as you can shower in the lounge, change your clothes and lock up your belongings. For the return flight, you can take fruits and a sandwich from the Grab & Go station. They are really good and I say that as a sandwich hater! So the airline only made money from me with the drinks, sorry TUIfly!

Here are my 10 tips for what to do when you checked out of the hotel room.

Tip: Dalaman Airport has outrageous prices for drinks and food. It is still cheaper to buy a bottle of water on the plane than at the airport. If you buy something at the airport, buy it in Turkish lira. The prices in euros or pounds are even more expensive as they don’t use the official exchange rate.

So should I go on holiday to the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park?

Can you go wrong when you book the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park? Absolutely not. For me, along with the TUI BLUE Palm Garden the best TUI BLUE hotel. If I couldn’t convince you, then perhaps the countless positive reviews on the major platforms will. The hotel is definitely worth the money. I look forward to comments from guests who have already stayed there!

When the European Championships, World Cup, Champions League or similar matches are on and there is demand, a conference room is used for live viewing.

Yes, that’s possible. I would recommend the combination of my favourite hotels TUI BLUE Palm Garden and Sarigerme Park. Yes, they do exist. But it’s not very bad, more at dusk. The rooms all have fly screens on the balcony door.

Are the beds always single beds pushed together?

The beds can be converted into a full- width bed with a topper.

Are there enough sunbeds at the TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park?

I didn’t see any sunbed reservations here and it’s unnecessary. The guests are spread over the pool and beach, where there are plenty of sunbeds. If not, just ask someone from the staff. If necessary, they can steal some from the neighbouring Robinson Club. Just kidding 😉

How far away is the nearest town?

The village of Sarigerme is less than a 10-minute walk away. There are ATMs, shops, pharmacies, restaurants and a supermarket.

No, proper shorts for men (i.e. no swimming shorts) are ok. Flip-flops and swimwear are not welcome at dinner. I can’t say whether you will actually be sent away if you turn up like this. But don’t we all get upset about badly dressed holidaymakers? It’s also nice to dress up sometimes, right?

Yes, there is a doctor at the hotel on an hourly basis. The nearest hospital is in Ortaca, 20 km from the hotel.

Yes, the sea still retains the summer heat and the air temperature can still be 25 to 28 degrees. The pool, on the other hand, is cool when it is not heated.

Is it loud in the hotel from the beach disco at the Purple Turtle bar?

No, the disco is not every night and is so far away from the residential buildings that you can’t hear anything.

  1. Another fantastic holiday having been for the first time last year. Special mention goes to Muammer in the main restaurant who immediately recognised us on our first morning and provided amazing service for the remainder of our holiday. The service overall is superb with the beach toilets worthy of a special mention due to the cleanliness! Lavante was excellent (we went twice) although we enjoyed all our dining experiences, regardless of where we ate. Berk and his TUI Blu Hotel colleagues went above and beyond with nothing being an issue for them to assist with. Hopefully be back next year.

    1. Hi Alison & Tony,

I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the compliments!

      Cheers
