Where is it hot in November in Europe?
The question to ask yourself when choosing a suitable November holiday destination in Europe is: how warm do I want it? Do you want dry, not too warm weather for hiking or hot bathing weather and warm sea?
Destinations such as the Greek Islands, Turkey, Majorca or southern Italy are missing from this overview. The reason is that the weather is usually not warm enough and consistent enough for a bathing holiday. In addition, many attractions are closed, hotels and restaurants are on winter break. However, there are other destinations that still promise bathing weather in November and are only a few hours away by plane.
Best weather in November in Europe: Cyprus
Cyprus is my secret tip for a warm November holiday destination in Europe! The eastern Mediterranean still has enough summer warmth stored up in November to take a dip in the water. Not to mention the pleasant temperatures, which can climb up to 25 degrees. The summer season is over and you almost have the island to yourself. Besides picture-book beaches, the island offers countless opportunities to discover the nature and culture of the “Island of the Gods”.

Where to go for sun in November: the Canary Islands
It’s probably the favourite destination for European holidaymakers and also one of the hottest destinations in November. Normally, daytime temperatures are over 20 degrees in November with many hours of sunshine and, depending on the island – the south of the Canary Island of Tenerife is the hottest- can even get really summery. White and black sandy beaches on Fuerteventura, bizarre volcanic landscapes like the Timanfaya National Park on Lanzarote and subtropical green valleys in Tenerife alternate. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on one of the Canary Islands for your warm November holiday, no one can probably help you 😉

Madeira, island of eternal spring
Another warm November holiday destination is the flower island of Madeira, a Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s not particularly hot in Madeira in November, but Ronaldo’s homeland is not a classic bathing destination anyway: you come here for the beautiful hikes, to enjoy the evergreen vegetation and the eternal spring at mild temperatures. You can rest your tired legs in the evening in one of the great hotels and treat yourself to some wellness.
Flight time from UK to Madeira: approx. 3.5 to 4 hours
Average temperature in November in Madeira:
- Maximum daytime temperature: 24 degrees Celsius

Where is it warm and cheap in November?
Roughly speaking, where it’s warm and cheap in November is where it’s not peak season and the flight isn’t too long. North Africa such as Egypt, Tunisia or Morocco are – depending on the region and what you have in mind – warm and have a very value for money for all-inclusive holidays. In destinations like Greece or Turkey, some hotels are still open and offer real bargains – hotel prices drop because the weather in November in those destinations is not hot anymore.
Tunisia: Sunny island of Djerba
In November, the southern Mediterranean Sea around Djerba is still warm enough for a short swim. If it’s too cool for you, you can sunbathe by the pool. Sunshine is more than likely on the Tunisian island anyway. November is the ideal time to discover the hidden treasures of Djerba: The works of local artists, the murals of Djerbahood, the flamingo island or a fast buggy tour through the hinterland. You can also count on low prices in November, after all it’s low season. Especially for couples, this is an opportunity to indulge in wellness and togetherness in a beautiful hotel. A great value for money is a nice side effect of a holiday in Djerba in November.
Flight time from UK to Djerba: approx. 3.5 hours
Average temperature in November on Djerba/Tunisia:

Where can I get sunshine in November? In Egypt!
Egypt is a warm destination all year round, but becomes a particularly popular bathing destination from November onwards, when the bathing season ends in Europe. The desert heat of summer is gone, leaving warm, sunny days and a 25-degree Red Sea that invites diving and snorkelling. For a trip to the pyramids, the weather in November is also much better than in summer. Whether Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh or Marsa Alam: Egypt has everything you could want for a beach holiday in November: good value for money, warm temperatures, luxurious hotel facilities and enough activities such as desert tours, water sports or wellness. As there are no school holidays in November, you can expect lower prices than usual.

Oriental city break in November: pleasant temperatures in Marrakech
Why go on a city break in rainy London, Paris or Berlin in November when you can have sun, souk and couscous in Marrakech? One of the best destinations for a city break in November, which you can reach after only a 3.5 hour flight, is the Moroccan royal city of Marrakech. It’s worth having an oasis of calm in the bustling city if the hustle and bustle of the medina alleys gets too much for you. By that I mean a chic hotel with a lush garden, pool area and hammam. 😀
Flight time from UK to Marrakech: approx. 3.5 h

Hottest holiday destinations in November
Many overseas beach destinations unfortunately have a rainy season in November. I spent 2 weeks in November in the Dominican Republic and it rained almost continuously on the Caribbean Island. Swimming in the pool and in the sea was not much fun and other outdoor activities literally fell through – despite the warm temperatures. But you can also be lucky and it rains only a little – the keyword is “unpredictable climate change”. So that you can be sure of beautiful, sunny weather in November, here are the best travel destinations in November that are currently in the dry season. Hurricane season is over by November!
Mexico: Cancun and the Riviera Maya
The area around Cancun, the so-called Riviera Maya on the Caribbean coast, can be visited all year round. In addition to tropical beaches, 26 degrees warm sea and endless opportunities for diving and snorkelling, mysterious Mayan sites, yummy street eats like tacos and fun-loving people await you.

Cape Verde – insider tip in Africa for holidays in November
Still rather unknown, Cape Verde is slowly becoming more visible on the tourist map. This is due to the many varied islands of the archipelago south of the Canaries and off the coast of West Africa. And also because Cape Verde is one of the hottest holiday destinations in November. The flight time from Central Europe is 6 to 7 hours on a direct flight. The island of Sal is perfect for a classic beach holiday. In addition to endless sandy beaches, it offers the most holidaymaker hotels with all the comforts you could wish for. Have you always wanted to try kitesurfing? Sal has a beach that is famous among kitesurfers. Learn more about Sal Island in this article.

Thailand and Vietnam
Southeast Asia is a classic winter destination. However, in Thailand and Vietnam, November is the rainy season. Khao Lak has an average of 23 rainy days in November! That said you can still enjoy the hot temperatures and it is possible to swim. But cloudy skies and sultry heat might not be what you had in mind. Better save these destinations for Christmas or January/February. This is the best time to travel to Southeast Asia.
The same as for Southeast Asia also applies to Zanzibar in November: it is the rainy season. Although it is not as pronounced as in Thailand, November is still not the ideal time to travel to the tropical island in the Indian Ocean. Those who don’t mind occasional rain showers will find lush green vegetation and temperatures around 30 degrees in November on Zanzibar. Which makes it one of the hottest holiday destinations in November.
The ultimate tip in November: work on the beach
You don’t have any holiday left, but you’re desperate to escape the grey dreariness of November? If you’re lucky enough to have a “laptop job” that doesn’t require much more than your notebook and internet access, you should look into “workation“. This is a mixture of working and holidaying. You nestle in the hotel, do your job, and the rest of the time you use all the hotel’s pleasant facilities, from spa to buffet, beach lounger to evening entertainment. And if you’ve chosen a warm holiday destination in November, it’s a dream, isn’t it? Here you can find hotels that have extra workation rooms with office facilities.
