Everyone can go on holiday to Majorca \u2013 but only a few know the insider tips that make a holiday unique and very special. There are many reasons to travel to Majorca: short flight times<\/strong> from Europe, beautiful beaches, cultural highlights<\/strong> and guaranteed summery weather.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was in Majorca again this summer myself and can only advise everyone to do the same. Knowing where it is beautiful and getting to know these places more and more intensively is a great feeling that I hope you can empathise with when you try out my insider tips and discover the Spanish holiday island for yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Can Picafort <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The tourist hotspot Can Picafort is located on the north coast of Majorca<\/strong>, centrally in the Bay of Alc\u00fadia<\/strong>. Can Picafort is part of the municipality of Santa Margalida and has developed from a fishing village to a tourist region, without losing its charm. The historic centre<\/strong> is formed by the harbour jetty, which today belongs to the marina. This invites you to linger and watch the sunset. In the centre of the resort is the fantastic sandy beach that attracts many tourists and especially families. After landing at Palma de Mallorca airport, only a 90 minute transfer<\/strong> separates you from the holiday destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best sights & activities in Can Picafort <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Can Picafort, almost every dream comes true and there are a huge number of offers for everyone. From relaxed snorkelling<\/strong> in the clear waters of the bay to an adrenaline kick on fun boat tours<\/strong>, anything is possible in terms of water activities. The possibilities on land are also unlimited, I can definitely recommend a walk<\/strong> along the beach promenade at sunset<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also think strolling through the shops<\/strong> on Paseo Col\u00f3n should be on everyone’s bucket list. For thrill seekers<\/strong>, just outside the town, in the industrial area, is the largest go-kart track in Majorca<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the sun goes down, the big difference between Can Picafort and the party resorts of El Arenal and Magaluf becomes apparent, although Can Picafort also has some hot spots for the nightlife<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playa Can Picafort <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The absolute highlight for me is the breathtakingly beautiful beach in Can Picafort! Crystal clear water and fine sandy beach combined with a unique view of parts of the islands and the expanses of the sea \u2013 indescribable. The kilometre-long beach section of the bay connects Puerto de Alc\u00fadia with Can Picafort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach slopes very gently into the sea, which makes it ideal for families with children, but further out it also offers the best conditions for swimmers. I also really like that on the beach there are many sun loungers and parasols offered and the beach is limited in its width due to the direct connection to the city, because this way you have everything you need for a beach day close to the beach. My absolute insider tip in Can Picafort: Swimming in the still quiet and warm water in the morning before the beach fills up and enjoying the visibility to the bottom of the sea and the tranquillity.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Market in Can Picafort <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My personal favourite excursion was visiting the weekly market<\/strong>, which takes place every Friday<\/strong> from 9am to 2pm<\/strong> on part of the beach promenade<\/strong> (Isaac Peral Street, Son Baul\u00f3). The market is relatively large and you can find everything there from textile products and traditional items to fresh regional fruit and vegetables. While strolling through the market and enjoying the pleasant atmosphere and the wonderful view of the bay, you can learn interesting details about Mallorcan culture and engage in cultural exchange. By the way, the market also takes place in a scaled-down form in winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

S’Albufera Nature Reserve <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Another insider tip in Can Picafort is the S \u0301Albufera nature reserve. Hiking enthusiasts will find perfect conditions there and can observe the flora and fauna. The area is the most extensive wetland in the Balearic Islands, covering an area of 1,700 hectares, which provide various routes and an information centre for you. In my opinion, this experience is suitable for groups of friends and families and costs no admission. If you are looking for an even bigger challenge, hiking the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range 60 kilometres away is an absolute insider tip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Necropolis of Son Real <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Necropolis of Son Real is definitely worth a trip too. The pre-Roman era grave site<\/strong> is located on the Punta des Fenicis peninsula and documents Can Picafort’s history. History buffs shouldn’t miss the excavations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for another excursion destination for your stay in Can Picafort? I was captivated by the old town of Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> with its medieval charm<\/strong>. The old town extends over a relatively small area five minutes from Port de Alcudia, which is enclosed by a city wall<\/strong>. Two gates in the wall are still preserved today and are impressive to behold. I can also highly recommend taking a walk on the fortress wall, from which you have a breathtaking view of the old town and surrounding fields. You definitely shouldn’t forget to stroll through the narrow alleys and pay a visit to the town hall<\/strong> and church<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best accommodation for families in Can Picafort <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The choice of hotels and apartment complexes in Can Picafort is large \u2013 my recommendation: pay special attention to the location of your accommodation. One of the biggest advantages of the TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins<\/a> is its location directly on Playa del Muro beach.\u00a0In addition to extensive pool facilities<\/strong> and childcare<\/strong>, the family hotel<\/strong> also has the best conditions for families with children thanks to a children’s corner and children’s buffet. You can choose between half board and all inclusive<\/strong>. Furthermore, the hotel stands out for its varied sports and entertainment programme<\/strong>. The beach<\/strong> is just a stone’s throw from the hotel and Alcudia is only four kilometres away, which is really worth a visit for the Majorcan market. If you are interested in hiking, the S’Albufera nature reserve is also only a 20-minute walk away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For an evening excursion from the hotel, I recommend a beach walk to the beach promenade, where you can round off the evening in one of the bars. Alternatively, for a successful evening, in addition to many regional and international specialities<\/strong> in “The Restaurant”, the hotel also offers a special culinary experience in the \u00e0 la carte restaurant<\/strong> “Taverna”, which you can enjoy overlooking the sea and sunset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can Picafort as a travel destination \u2013 is it worth it? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For me, Can Picafort offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, especially due to its beachfront location \u2013 which TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins also has \u2013 I was able to spontaneously decide day after day what I feel like doing. I really enjoyed my holiday in Can Picafort all round and I’m already planning another trip to Majorca.
