Whether it’s quiet coves with crystal-clear turquoise water or lively long sandy beaches with a wide range of tourist attractions: You never have far to go to one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches. Some are easy to reach by car and have a large car park, while others require you to walk a good distance. Rather unusual and very pleasing is the fact that many of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches are still largely undeveloped. Beach bars and restaurants cater for your culinary needs and sometimes sun loungers are rented out, but you won’t find any large hotel complexes with the corresponding hustle and bustle. Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches resemble the coasts of the famous Makarska Riviera<\/a> in Croatia with its many enchanting bays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most beautiful beaches in Ibiza at a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A tip right from the start: if you want to explore the whole island at your leisure, it’s best to hire a car or at least a scooter. You can combine your beach tour with a visit to the most beautiful sights in Ibiza<\/a>. Ibiza is not particularly large, but it is very hilly in parts. In combination with the Spanish sun, cycling tours can quickly become exhausting, especially if you want to visit the famous beaches in the southwest. These are the first beaches we would like to introduce you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ses Salines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the southern tip of the island lies one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches in the nature reserve of the same name: Ses Salines, sometimes called Las Salinas. At the end of the road, there is a large car park and a supermarket where you can stock up on snacks and drinks. The long sandy beach stretches for several kilometres to the historic watchtower Torre de ses Portes and always offers more than enough space, even in high season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Jondal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The beach of Cala Jondal a few kilometres further west is a little more exclusive. Here you will find the legendary Blue Marlin beach club, which attracts numerous celebrities and stars in summer. The prices are steep, but who knows who will be sitting next to you at the beach bar. The beach itself is a pebble beach and therefore not quite as nice, but the atmosphere easily makes up for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala d\u2019Hort<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The long crescent-shaped beach in the southwest of Ibiza offers one of Ibiza’s most famous postcard motifs: the offshore rock of Es Vedr\u00e1. Here you can not only enjoy the sunshine on the beach, but also go snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. The Es Boldado restaurant on the eastern edge of the bay is famous for its fresh fish and seafood. The only disadvantage of this beach: The few parking spaces are usually gone early in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most beautiful beaches in Ibiza in the north<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The rocky coast in the north of Ibiza is far less developed for tourism than the south and west. If you take the more arduous journey, you will be rewarded with some of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches, which, with a bit of luck, you will have all to yourself. One exception is the bay of Cala Benirr\u00e0s<\/strong>, which attracted the island’s hippie scene in the 1960s and 1970s and still exudes a touch of alternative culture today. If you want to experience a touch of flower power yourself, come on a Sunday evening: old and new hippies gather here to dance into the sunset to the rhythmic sound of bongo drums. Far quieter is Cala Xarraca<\/strong>, a small rocky bathing bay with unbeatable turquoise water that invites you to go snorkelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No longer an insider tip among Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches, Cala Sant Vicent<\/strong> in the northeast is one of the few real sandy beaches in this part of the island, where several hotels have settled. Combine the visit with a hike to the lighthouse of Punta Grossa to enjoy the dreamlike panoramic view over the coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most beautiful beaches at the main tourist resorts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Especially around the capital Ibiza Town, some of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches were given over to mass tourism decades ago. However, this also has advantages, because here you will find tourist hustle and bustle from early in the morning until late at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Platja d\u2019en Bossa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Probably the most famous beach in Ibiza is the more than three-kilometre-long Platja d’en Bossa between Ibiza Town and the airport. On the beautiful fine sandy beach, you can rent sun loungers and parasols, enjoy numerous water sports and romp around with the children in the shallow water. In the evening, the beach turns into a huge party mile when the beach clubs open their doors and famous DJs from all over Europe play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playa Talamanca<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Just behind the port of Ibiza Town is the quieter Playa Talamanca, which is mainly frequented by older holidaymakers and families. Smaller children can splash around in the shallow waters of the bay and there are plenty of public toilets and bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beaches of Sant Antoni de Portmany<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sant Antoni de Portmany is the best-known seaside resort on the west coast of Ibiza and famous for its sunsets. The wide main beach Platja de S’Arenal<\/strong> is comparable to Platja d’en Bossa, but cannot really be considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza due to the hustle and bustle and the proximity to the marina. Better lace up a pair of good shoes and visit one of the other beaches nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The twin coves of Cala Graci\u00f3<\/strong> and Cala Gracioneta<\/strong> comprise two of Ibiza’s smallest yet most beautiful beaches. The Cala Saladeta<\/strong> is famous for the hand-mixed mojitos on offer here. With a cold drink in hand, the view over the picturesque little bay is even more beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the very western end of Sant Antoni Bay is Cala Bassa<\/strong>, an undeveloped crescent-shaped sandy beach that you can reach by rental car or on foot. Allow about one or two hours for the hike along the beautiful rocky coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
